What are the lessons to be learned?
QUOTE 1:
"There's nothing more sickening to me than a low-grade white man who'll take advantage of a Negro's ignorance. Don't fool yourselves it's all adding up and one of these days we're going to pay the bill for it. I hope it's not in you children's time."

This quote above provided a lesson to Jem and Scout that taught them to not accuse an innocent man guilty just because of his race. The kids understood where Atticus was coming from in the quote, since the judgment of the Tom Robinson case had taken place. Bob Ewell had been a low-grade white man who took advantage of a Negro, and it was not right and justice should be brought to him.
QUOTE 2:
"Most people are, Scout, when you finally see them."
PAGE: 281
The quote that Atticus said at the end of the book stood by his explanation to the kids, that was to never judge someone until you walk around in his skin. Once you do walk around in someones skin you will see how people are good and not always bad. People judge by what they hear and see and Atticus taught the kids not to do that but to get to know someone and understand them.
